New set-up for the Sacmi Group’s Food Processing business

As part of the Sacmi Group’s business rationalisation plan and the consequent cession of shareholdings no longer deemed to be strategic, on 21st December 2007 there was a reconfiguration of the stockholding set-up in the Food Processing sector, which was headed by Sacmi and Catelli S.p.A. and its subsidiaries.

This operation, which led to separation from Catelli, can be summed up as follows.

CeG S.p.A., renowned on the market by way of the historical Carle & Montanari brand, the leading Italian producer of individual machines and complete plants for chocolate-making, was purchased outright by H.P.S. S.p.A., the Sacmi Group holding company.

Catelli Holding has purchased 100% of the Gram Equipment Group, FBR Elpo S.p.A. and Raytec Vision S.p.A.

With the conclusion of this operation CeG S.p.A. - which has also divested itself of the ice-cream branch of the company, ceded to a subsidiary of Catelli Holding S.p.A. - will be focussing, as in the past, on the core business of chocolate and will resume the company name Carle and Montanari.

On the new Board of Directors Eugenio Emiliani, General Manager of the Sacmi Group, will take on the role of president, while Roberto Bucchi is confirmed as the company’s Managing Director.

The Sacmi Group’s chocolate-making machine division, with the Processing and Packaging Divisions, has, over the last 3 years, raised sales from 25.5 million Euros to 47.5 million Euros, with exports accounting for 90% of all business.
