With this latest investment the number of SACMI AVM modules installed at Tocha reaches 14, including all the technology to interface with factory automation. Production capacity expected to increase by almost 300 pieces per day of complex WCs.
Sanindusa (Portugal) makes new investment in SACMI RobotCasting machinery for high pressure casting of sanitaryware. 2 new AVM casting cells – SACMI’s leading technology on the market for the manufacture of complex WCs – have recently been supplied to the company’s headquarters based in Tocha, in the north-west of the country.
Each cell consists of 2 AVM modules plus a robot and, as with previous solutions, are supplied complete with all the latest equipment such as SACMI pre-dryer and the automatic system for loading-unloading pieces on the car.
The number of AVM modules running today at Sanindusa therefore reaches 14, part of an overall plan to invest in SACMI technology throughout the various departments of the factory from casting to glazing and LGV handling systems.
In fact, the supply of the new casting modules includes the software integration of the SACMI LaserMove platform so as to manage the new production using the existing LGV fleet. All the new machines can be integrated with the SACMI HERE factory supervisor with advanced functions for monitoring production flow and performance.
Designed to work at high production capacity with few operators, the new AVM solutions promise to bring Sanindusa an increase in output of 300 pieces per day. In particular, the cells will be dedicated to the production of complex WCs having a modern and functional design such as the new back-to-wall WCs.
A further 2 AVM modules are expected to be installed in the near future to achieve a total of 16 machines up and running within 2023.
