SACMI RobotGlaze: quality and sustainability for the “Made in Italy” bathroom

Disegno Ceramica, leading sanitaryware manufacturer since 1993 based in the Italian Civita Castellana district, installs a new SACMI glazing cell equipped with GA2000 robot. A choice to guarantee sustainability and efficiency as well as excellent quality of the glazed piece.

Market leader in top quality “Made in Italy” bathroom design and sanitaryware, Disegno Ceramica has recently invested in SACMI robotized glazing. Founded in 1993, this company has developed into a winning example of how to successfully combine tradition and modernity, functionality and design, the distinctive characteristics of Italian sanitaryware.
The company’s plant in Civita Castellana, in the heart of the Italian sanitaryware production district, has therefore been supplied with a SACMI glazing cell equipped with 4-position carousel. At the centre is the Gaiotto GA2000 robot, top of the well-known SACMI RobotGlaze range which has gained success and recognition throughout the world in the robotized glazing sector.
This robot guarantees maximum efficiency and top quality glazing whilst ensuring minimum glaze consumption, thanks to the integrated “mass control” system. Glaze application is controlled by the GDA80 spray-gun, known throughout the industry for its key features of reliability and zero maintenance.
The ability to keep pace with the evolution of the market, whilst maintaining the identity and tradition typical of Italian bathroom design, has been the hallmark of Disegno Ceramica which, over the years, has invested continuously in sustainability of production.
From this point of view, the cell that has been supplied is equipped with a water-atomizing type filtering zone. This is a solution which, thanks to a continuous water curtain filter system, makes it possible to both recover overspray and eliminate residue dust
Further automation of the operations is ensured by the automatic car loading and unloading system carried out by a handling robot.
