The Mexican company designs and manufactures special components for the automotive industry. Cutting-edge solution for application of resin and fibreglass to special bus parts just started up, marking an important step towards process robotization together with SACMI.
Quality of the finished piece and process optimization are the winning cards of the GA2000, SACMI-Gaiotto’s latest-generation robot successfully installed and commissioned at Global Composite, leading manufacturer of automotive components based in Mexico.
With its headquarters in the city of Querétaro, the company chose the SACMI-Gaiotto solution thanks to its innovative characteristics both from a technological point of view and thanks to the special cell configuration. In particular, the GA2000 supplied (“inverted” version) is installed inside the cell on a translation slide, which allows it to move alternately between the two rotating platforms on which the pieces to be resin-coated are loaded.
The cell is dedicated to handling bus components. Both the platforms and the translation slide are directly controlled by the external axes of the robot. Thanks to this set-up, the operator can replace the part to be sprayed on one of the two platforms, while the robot is working on the other one, thus optimizing cell operating times.
Among its other features – common to Gaiotto’s entire range of global standard-setting systems – is the SACMI Mass Control solution for regulating the amount of product applied (in this case resin and fibreglass) to optimize consumption and, above all, guarantee perfect uniformity of product application.
For Global Composite, the project marked a crucial step towards production process robotization, built on close cooperation with its technological partner SACMI.
