Productivity, sustainability, digital technology. All of SACMI’s latest developments at Chinaplas 2025

Productivity, sustainability, digital technology. All of SACMI’s latest developments at Chinaplas 2025

Premiere of the new CCM64MD cap press: 50% more productivity (up to 2,850 caps per minute) and consumption reduced by a further 15%, ideal for combining the need for high productivity with maximum competitiveness. Also, the complete range for PET preform production, vision systems and digital services for advanced machine and process control

SACMI has big plans for Chinaplas 2025, the 37th edition of the international plastics and rubber industry trade fair, to be held on 15-18 April 2025 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Centre in Shenzhen, China.
Unprecedented speed and productivity, ultra-low consumption, new digital services. This is SACMI’s calling card as it flies to Shenzhen with new developments to reveal, like the most productive CCM cap press ever.

New CCM64MD, +50% productivity, low consumption

The Chinese market demands top quality and productivity. To meet these requirements, SACMI chose Chinaplas to unveil the new CCM64MD, the progenitor of a new generation of compression presses capable of reaching unprecedented speeds of up to 2,850 caps per minute with just 64 moulds.
With a 50% increase in productivity compared to the current range, this innovation not only increases productivity while reducing operating costs but also responds precisely to the characteristics of the Chinese market. From this point of view, the new CCM64MD is capable of servicing the high production capacity of bottling lines, allowing just one machine (171,000 caps per hour) to supply two high-capacity bottling lines (80,000 bottles per hour).

Superior sustainability: 15% less consumption by the press

In packaging, sustainability is a key driver, in China as in global markets. This is why SACMI, along with developing a new generation of lighter, higher-performance caps, has invested in the reduction of its machines’ specific consumption, establishing a new state of the art for technology. In this respect, the new generation of CCM presses reduces consumption by 15% compared to the previous range, to just 0.43 kWh/kg. In terms of emissions, a reduction of 8 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent per year for the same production.

Original SACMI moulds for consistent quality and performance

SACMI has unrivalled know-how when it comes to mould production and development. A section of the booth at the Chinaplas fair will be dedicated to showing customers the benefits of original SACMI moulds, which offer improved production performance and consistent quality and reliability over time, guaranteeing the conformity of the finished cap. This, together with consulting on machine tooling management, results in higher quality and, again, lower costs.

IPS preform press, vision systems and process control

For many years SACMI has flanked its technological leadership in cap presses with a complete range of machines for preform production, supported by the expertise of its in-house lab that develops complete tests on products, caps and preforms, to propose the best, most performing solution to the customer, including the new 26/22 mm standards and the tethered cap. One of the most distinctive PET solutions is the IPS 400, the only preform press on the market that integrates the vision system directly into the machine, offering indisputable benefits when it comes to process control.
SACMI also offers the market's widest range of vision systems – even produced locally at SACMI's facilities in China – for controlling every stage of production, from caps and preforms to vision systems for metal packaging, both in-line and stand-alone. Solutions that are increasingly advanced both in terms of controls and of tools that facilitate the operation of machines, including through the use of artificial intelligence.

Increasingly digital and connected, also for a new approach to customer support

The digitisation of systems is yet another driver of the Chinese and global markets. For years now, SACMI has incorporated a new generation of digital controls in its range of cap and preform machines that enhance their performance, deriving maximum benefit from the interpretation of process data and supporting the operator in making the best decisions.
New applications such as self-diagnostics on the machines (Smart Pack 2), cloud services (Smart Care) and much more will be presented at the trade show. All new services are complemented by SACMI's widespread technical assistance and original spare parts in the country, under the direction of SACMI Shanghai.
