Grani Taganaya (Russia) doubles its capacity with SACMI

The achievements of Phase 1 - completed back in 2019 at the Zlatoust manufacturing facility - have now been taken to a whole new level. With Phase 2, the production capacity of this plant, built with SACMI technology, doubles to 5 million m2 of technical and glazed porcelain tiles per year.

On 16 December Grani Taganaya inaugurated a successful doubling of line capacity at its main facility in Zlatoust, in the Čeljabinsk region of European Russia. This new project bolsters the ambitions of the first phase - completed in 2019 with SACMI technology – of this ultra-modern technical and glazed porcelain tile plant.

SACMI has supplied this Russian customer with systems for every stage of production, from raw material grinding to finished product sorting. Key machines include the MMC092 modular mill and the PH6500 presses, ideal for the manufacture of the market’s most popular sizes, such as 60x60 and 90x90 cm. Alongside them stands a new 161.7-meter SACMI FMS295 kiln.

This second order raises the Zlatoust plant’s output capacity to 5 million m2 of tiles per year and allows for a flexible production mix. A planned follow-on from Phase 1, this doubling highlights the business ambitions underlying the investment: the inauguration was attended by local institutions, as the project is set to play a pivotal role in the area’s economic and employment future.

For SACMI, the order constitutes another significant result on the strategic Russian market. Indeed, growth in the area has been steady in recent years, resulting in considerable success for the comprehensive range of technologies that the SACMI Group supplies to the industry.
